 What is ABA?

ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis) is a proven and highly effective way to teach children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and PDD (Pervasive Developmental Delay). There are many published studies attesting to the effectiveness of this approach.

The learning is broken down into very small, or 'discrete' steps and taught using repetition, positive reinforcement, and whatever degree of prompting is necessary for success. Typically, children would participate in this kind of a program for 30 to 40 hours a week, and follow a curriculum tailored to their needs and level of development.

Often these programs are started in the home, with a team of 'providers' or 'therapists' to do the teaching.

We are very pleased to have permission from the Mariposa School for Autism to utilize their Training Manual for our parents and staff.  This is a wonderful resource. Thank you www.MariposaSchool.org
